Who We Are

Who we are

The Patient Voices Network is an initiative of Impact BC, with support from the BC Ministry of Health Services’  Patients as Partners initiative. The Patient Voices Network is not-for-profit and will continue to develop partnerships with Health Authorities, other non-government organizations (NGOs), universities and the private sector.

What we do

The Patient Voices Network creates mechanisms for patients, their families and other community stakeholders to participate in primary healthcare* changes that will positively affect their lives. The Patient Voices Network brings patients together from around British Columbia to connect, share their experiences and learn from each other.

*Primary healthcare services: e.g. visits to family physicians, consultations with nurse practitioners, telephone calls to health information lines, advice received from pharmacists, etc.

Why is this important?

We are all patients. Everyone accesses healthcare at some point in their lives. Many of us have also supported family members and friends in their journeys through the health system.

As experts in their own lives, we believe that patients can provide health system administrators and care providers with important information about how to best serve them and involve them as partners in their own care.
