Vancouver: Patient Voices Training Session
People interested in the Shaping the System, Community Activation and Peer Coaching components of the Patient Voices Network are required to attend a one or two day training workshop.
Day one
Day one training is for all patients interested in Shaping the System, Community Activation and Peer Coaching. This session will cover:
- An overview of BC's healthcare system
- An in-depth introduction to the Patient Voices Network
- A workshop on how to communicate effectively
- An introduction to Shaping the System and Community Activation.
Day two
Day two training is a more in-depth training specifically for patients interested in Peer Coaching. After completing the Day One training workshop, those interested in becoming a Peer Coach can attend this session to learn about:
- Parameters of the Peer Coaching program
- Motivational interviewing techniques
- Goal setting techniques.
